Verifying a new domain for G Suite (Google Apps)

In order to associate your domain name purchased from Namecheap and pointed to our BasicDNS, BackupDNS (a legacy option), PremiumDNS or FreeDNS with your G Suite account, you need to verify domain ownership first.

This can be done via Google Admin Console. Please note that if your domain is pointed to third-party DNS, DNS records for ownership verification should be created on the side of your DNS provider.

Please follow the steps below to have the domain verified for G Suite:

1. Log in to your G Suite account (have no G Suite account?), go to Domains and click on Verify Domain:

2. Click on Begin Verification in the window that appears:

3. Select Namecheap from the list and sign in to your Namecheap account in another browser's tab (please don't close the current tab).

Click on the Verify button:

You will be provided with a verification record for your domain (it starts with "google-site-verification="):

4. Go to your Namecheap account > Domain List > Manage > Advanced DNS > Host Records > Add New Record to set it up (more detailed instruction on how to create a TXT record can be found in the

Once done, click Save All Changes:

5. Let's also set up your email on this page. Scroll a bit to the Mail Settings section > select Gmail > Save Changes:

Wait for 30 minutes for the host records changes to be accepted.

6. After that, please get back to your G Suite account and finish the verification:

If your settings have been verified, you'll get the "Congratulations" message:

Enjoy the G Suite service!

If you had a domain added to your G Suite (Google Apps) account, but some settings have been changed for it, the only thing you need to do to run the email service again is to set up MX records on your domain's side.

In this case, start the setup from the step where you select Gmail in the Mail Settings section.
