EasyWP: How to create a WordPress site

This article describes how to create your WordPress site in a few clicks.

Once subscribed to EasyWP, you will be prompted to create your new WordPress site.

You can use either a domain registered with Namecheap, an External Domain, pointed to FreeDNS, PremiumDNS or a Temporary domain if you want to use an external domain for the EasyWP installation further.

NOTE: If you want to create a website using an external domain at once, it should be pointed to our FreeDNS or PremiumDNS. In this case, you should choose the Domain on Namecheap option.

To create a WordPress website, login to your Namecheap account and navigate to the Apps menu.

Click on the EasyWP logo to proceed with the actions:

Once done, you will see the option to create a new website.

Step 1:

Domain on Namecheap

If you decide to use a Temporary domain, enter the desired address of your website and click Continue:

NOTE: When you choose to use a Temporary Domain to create your website, it will be accessible via a Temporary URL (e.g. blog-user.easywp.com where blog is the name of your site).

Domain on Namecheap

If you want to use one of your domain names registered with Namecheap, type the domain or choose it from the drop-down list and click the Continue button.

In case you want to choose an external domain for an EasyWP installation at once, point it to our FreeDNS, and the domain will appear in the Domain on Namecheap drop-down menu:

NOTE: If you don’t have a domain name registered with Namecheap, you can buy one by clicking Buy a new domain:

To proceed with your WordPress website creation, click Continue.

  • Username – your website's admin username. This is your Namecheap account username by default.

NOTE: Only alphanumeric characters and underscores are allowed.

  • Password – your site's admin password

Options

This section allows you to choose some cool options:

  • Seed with demo content – fills your WordPress installation with demo posts, pages, and comments.
  • Enable basic security – secures your WordPress installation with basic options with the iTheme security plugin.
  • Enable JetPack – installs the JetPack plugin in your WordPress site.
  • Enable Forum – installs the bbPress on your WordPress site.
Enable any of these options by switching the toggle on or skip this step:

To proceed with the installation, click Create WordPress Website.

You will be redirected to a confirmation page to confirm that the EasyWP application is allowed to change DNS records for your bare domain name (e.g., yourdomainname.com) and www subdomain (e.g., www.yourdomain.com):

To finish the installation, click Confirm.

NOTE: Once you confirm the changes to your domain name it will be pointed to your new EasyWP WordPress site. A content on your previous site (if you have any) will not be shown on your domain anymore.

When using a real domain, DNS changes can take some time to propagate.

Your WordPress website will be ready in a few seconds. Once the installation is completed, you will receive an email with the access details to your contact email address.

That's it!

EasyWP is Namecheap's fast and reliable Managed WordPress Hosting solution.
