How to remove an SSL from a Namecheap account

From time to time, you may want to remove unnecessary SSL certificates, such as expired or canceled SSLs, from your Namecheap account.

Keep in mind:
  • Our system removes the expired SSL certificates automatically from the account panel in 30 days after the expiration date;
  • It is only possible to remove SSLs with a "Cancelled" or "Revoked" status. If you’d like to remove expired SSL certificates you will need to cancel them first. Please contact our SSL Support Team for assistance with the SSL cancellation.
To remove your canceled SSL certificates, do the following:
  • Navigate to the "Domain List" of your Namecheap account Dashboard.
  • Select the "All Products" option from the drop-down menu over to the right.

  • Find the domain for the certificate in question, we’ll use "example.com" here as an example.
  • Click the down-facing arrow to expand the list of related services for this domain.

          You’ll see your canceled certificate listed among the services for the domain.
  • Locate the "Manage" button to the right of the SSL and choose the "Remove" option from the drop-down menu.

You can remove the revoked SSL in the same way. Here's the guide on how to revoke and remove your certificate from the account panel for your reference.

That’s it! Now the certificate has been removed from your account panel.
