Differences between Namecheap Private Email and cPanel email

Web-hosting email service included in cPanel is a common email hosting, which allows you to send emails, manage email accounts through webmail and email clients (Outlook, Thunderbird, Mail.app, .etc) via SMTP/POP/IMAP connection/protocols.

That service is a good choice if you need to use a number of standard email accounts.

All regular email service features are available for Namecheap Private Email users as well. However, with the Namecheap Private Email, you can also set up Exchange accounts to synchronize appointments, tasks, calendar and email folders between your Namecheap Private Email account and supported devices and email clients.

Also, you can use packages benefits. That will allow you to do such things as:

  • create a public space in shared folders
  • set and control tasks
  • create and manage work schedules
  • monitor the availability of colleagues for participating in meetings/discussions organization
  • share data
  • control who has access to specific files etc.

Thus, Namecheap Private Email is a great choice for organizations and optimization of teamwork using email clients/mobile devices.

You can use only one of the email hosting services at the same time – Namecheap Private Email or web-hosting email service.

If you buy one of our Shared Hosting packages, you will get cPanel email hosting by default. However, if you would like to use Namecheap Private Email, your cPanel email hosting will not work. If you are going to use Namecheap Private Email, you need to set up MX records for your domain per this article or contact our Support Team to help you with this.
