What is Support PIN?

When you contact Namecheap support, we may need to validate your account before we can discuss account-specific details with you or assist you with your support inquiry.

In order to validate you as the account holder, we may ask you for your account username and Support PIN.

The Support PIN is a unique number that is assigned to your account for 24 hours after you visit the Support PIN Settings page.

In order to get your Support PIN, mouse over your Namecheap username at the top of the page and you will find it in the drop-down window:

You can change your Support PIN in the following way:

1) Sign into your Namecheap account;

2)  Select Profile from the left sidebar and choose Security from the menu that will appear:

3) In this section, you will see your current Support PIN. If you wish to refresh it and get the new one, simply click on the Refresh button.

Your Support PIN will be automatically updated to a random one. After that, you should get the message ‘Your Support PIN has been changed successfully’.

Also, you can set your own permanent Support PIN that won't have any expiry date. In order to do it, click on the Set Permanent button, enter your new permanent Support PIN and click on the Save Changes button:

Once done, your Support PIN will be updated in the Security section:

That's it!
