In this how-to, you’ll learn how to create a CNAME record for the domain
name in your Namecheap account.
We recommend setting up a CNAME record for subdomains only, like
‘subdomain.example.com’ or just ‘www.example.com’. Setting up a CNAME
for your bare domain (example.com) may result in email service
misconfiguration.
Use a fully qualified domain name (FQDN) as a target, you can find more
details here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fully_qualified_domain_name.
Otherwise, it won't work.
Make sure there are no other host records (CNAME, A and so on) for the
same Host. It won't work well if there is a conflict.
Please keep in mind that we've recently switched domain privacy
protection service providers from WhoisGuard to Withheld for Privacy.
You can find more details on the matter in
this blog post.
