What is an Outlet (Clearance) Dedicated server?

What exactly is a an Outlet Server?

Outlet Servers refer to previously-used generation servers that are provided at a discounted price. Since the respective hardware has already been paid in full, Outlet Servers are an ideal solution from an economic and environmental perspective.

Powerful and well-equipped, our Outlet Servers are located in the PhoenixNAP datacenter and come with set configurations, meaning you can select from OS, web panel, and billing platforms. Keep in mind 100% uptime guarantee does not apply to Outlet Servers as they have been previously used.

What does User-Responsible Server Management refer to?

As the name suggests, this type of management requires that the user takes full responsibility for the managing of that particular server. This requires more of a general understanding of Linux and the command line to ensure everything functions well.

Here’s what you can expect with User-Responsible Server Management:
  • Initial server setup and configuration
  • Detection and resolution of hardware issues
  • Server reboot (by request)
  • Full root access

What type of Server Management applies to Outlet Servers?

Since they are not configurable, Outlet Servers can only be ordered User-Responsible. This being said, we are unable to provide support assistance, except if hardware needs to be replaced.

How do I know my Outlet Server is in operating condition?

All our Outlet Servers have been thoroughly checked to ensure that they are fully operational. As is the case with older servers, however, sometimes malfunctions may occur. In the unlikely event of this happening, we will be happy to provide you with a replacement (whether it’s an affected part or the entire server).

If you are not completely satisfied with your Outlet Server, you can always cancel to receive a refund (excluding license prices) within one week after the initial delivery date.
