How do I connect my Wix site to my domain (in cPanel)?

Wix is a free website builder that allows creating Flash websites quickly and easily without needing special coding skills. Once you have created a fancy-looking web page, go ahead and connect it to the domain.

When you sign up for a free Wix account, you can create and publish your sites absolutely free. When you publish a free Wix site, it will automatically get its own site address (http://siteaddress.wix.com/myweb). If you would like to connect your own domain (for example, www.mydomain.tld), you will first have to upgrade your plan to a prepaid one that includes using your own domain.

If you already have a prepaid Wix account, you can map it to your site following these steps (for domains hosted with Namecheap):

for cPanel paper_lantern theme:

1. Log into your cPanel account.
2. Click on Advanced Zone Editor menu in Domains section:



3. Scroll down to Zone File Records table and use Edit button.

4. Paste 216.185.152.157 into Address field and click on Edit Record:



5. In order for a mobile version to work, navigate the Subdomains menu in Domains section and create a subdomain for m.yourdomain.com:





6. Then get back to Advanced Zone Editor and use Add a Record to point the subdomain to the Wix IP address:

Type: A
Name: m.yourdomain.com
TTL: 1200
Address: 216.185.152.157

Click on Add record button to save it:




for cPanel x3 theme:

1. Log into your cPanel account.
2. Click on the Advanced DNS Zone Editor menu for the Domains section:



3. Scroll down to the Zone File Records table and use the Edit button.

4. Paste 216.185.152.157 into Address field and click on Edit Record:



5. In order for a mobile version to work, navigate Subdomains menu (in Domains section) and create a subdomain for m.yourdomain.com:



6. Then get back to Advanced DNS Zone Editor and use Add a Record to point the subdomain to the Wix IP address:

Type: A
Name: m.yourdomain.com
TTL: 1200
Address: 216.185.152.157

Click on Add record button to save it:
