What is ICANN fee?

ICANN (the Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers) charges a mandatory yearly fee of $0.18 for each year of domain registration/transfer. This will be added to the listed price for the following domains, at the time of purchase:


Namecheap absorbs the cost of the ICANN fee on .biz, .org, .info, .name, .asia, .jobs, .mobi and .xxx domains.

The ICANN fee is charged per domain name registration year. For example, the fee for a one-year .com registration would be $0.18 while it would be $0.36 for a two-year .com registration.
