Email sending and usage limits for Private Email

This article applies to both the new Private Email webmail and the legacy (Open-Xchange) webmail.

To ensure fair usage and maintain optimal performance for all users, Private Email accounts are subject to the following limits on outgoing emails, recipients, storage, and synchronization:

Email sending limits

Current plans:

  • Launch/Expand/Scale: 500/hour/mailbox.

Old plans:
  • Starter: 500 emails/hour per domain
  • Pro: 1000 emails/hour per domain
  • Ultimate: 1500 emails/hour per domain
  • Private: 500 emails/hour per domain
  • Business: 500 emails/hour per domain
  • Business Office: 500 emails/hour per domain

Trial plans:

  • All trial plans are limited to 20/hour/mailbox.

Recipient limits

  • Any email sent from Private Email is limited to 50 recipients across the TO, CC, and BCC fields simultaneously.

TLD restrictions

  • Usage of Private Email trial plans for domains with the following TLDs is not available: .tk / .ml / .ga / .cf / .gq / .za.com
  • Usage of Private Email paid and trial plans for domains with the following TLDs is not available: .ru / .xn--p1ai / .by / .xn--90ais / .su 

Limits for additional services (for Open-Xchange webmail users only)

The following limits apply to additional services:
  • Maximum number of calendar appointments: 250,000
  • Maximum number of contacts in address book: 250,000
  • Maximum number of files in drive: 250,000
  • Maximum number of personal information manager attachments (tasks, appointments, etc.): 250,000
