FAQ - Namecheap services for customers in Russia

What is the current status of Namecheap services for customers in Russia?

In line with our compliance and risk policies, purchases of most Namecheap products and services are not available to customers registered in Russia or the temporarily occupied regions of Ukraine. A limited number of services remain available, as outlined below.

Which services remain available?

The following services continue to be offered to eligible customers:

  • Domain name registrations, renewals, and transfers (in line with ICANN requirements applicable to all accredited registrars).
  • Private Email subscriptions (unless used with .xn--p1ai / .ru / .xn--90ais / .by / .su TLDs)
  • FastVPN subscriptions

Which services are not available?

New purchases and renewals of Namecheap Hosting, EasyWP, SSL Certificates, Marketing tools, and other products outside of the categories listed above are not available to customers located in Russia at this time.

Why are domain services still available?

As an ICANN-accredited registrar, Namecheap is required to follow specific obligations regarding the registration, renewal, and transfer of domain names. Maintaining these services for existing domain holders allows us to remain compliant with those obligations.

Why are Private Email and FastVPN still available?

Basic communication services (Private Email) and access-to-information services (FastVPN) remain available so that individual users continue to have access to open communication tools.

I am an existing customer with active services. What happens to them?

Existing domain names, Private Email subscriptions, and FastVPN subscriptions can continue to be used and renewed as normal, subject to standard policy and applicable law. Other services that fall under the restrictions described above will not be available for renewal.

Is my Namecheap account suspended?

No, affected customers have access to their services and data.

I have moved out of Russia or my account contact details are out of date. What should I do?

Please update your account contact information and reach out to our Risk Management team. They will review the case and confirm next steps.
