How to configure ActiveSync (Exchange) account in Outlook for iPhone

This tutorial shows how to synchronize e–mails, contacts and appointments of your Namecheap Private Email account in Outlook application on your iPhone/ iPod/ iPad. We will use a test email account in this guide.

NOTE 1: before setting up email account this way, make sure you already have required DNS records and mailbox created.
NOTE 2: take into account that synchronizing with mobile devices is available only for Business and Business Office packages only.

1. Open Outlook email application on your iPhone/ iPad/ iPod:

2. Click the 'Let's Do It!' button to configure a new account in the application:

3. In the next window, you will be asked to enter your Private Email address. We use our test email account, :

4. In case your account type is not automatically recognized, you will be offered to choose the account type. Choose Exchange:

5. Enter the required details:

Email Address: your full email address
Password: the password from the email account
Description: the description of the email account. Only you will see it.

Private Email uses autodiscover for the fast and convenient way to set up your mailboxes in the email clients. Once filled, click the Sign In button.
If for some reason the automatic setup failed, it is possible to type the settings manually.

Go back to the step 3, double-check the name of your mailbox. As your email account is loading, click the Setup Account Manually button:

Then, proceed to step 5, click Use Advanced Settings, and fill in the required details:

Email Address: your full email address
Password: a password to your Namecheap Private Email mailbox
Description: any description you like to use for this account
Domain: your mailbox domain ( in
Username: first part of your email address (support in
Password: one from your Private Email email account

5. System will verify your account's settings.

6. Once the account is created, you will be able to choose additional settings of the exchange account:

You will be able to:

- enable mail notifications in the Mail Notifications tab;
- create your personalized signature in the Signature tab;
- enable calendar notifications in the Calendar tab;
- integrate other apps with Outlook in the Integrations and Add-Ins tab.
