What is Namecheap Legal? How does it work?

You are starting your business and want it to be unique and recognizable? We know how to help! The Namecheap Legal application helps you incorporate your business or set up an LLC in the USA.

How does this work?

  1. You select a required Namecheap Legal plan from our Marketplace and set the subscription up on our website. After that, depending on the state you apply for, you will be charged the price of the subscription + state filing fees. State filling fees depend on the state and vary from $25 to $350.
  2. Within 24 hours our Namecheap Legal Team will start looking into your order and will contact you via email if there is anything needed from you.
  3. Once all the documents are ready, it takes 2-4 days for them to be submitted to the appropriate state agency. After that, it takes up to 6 months (depending on the state and their individual requirements) for the documents to be reviewed and a decision to be provided.

Citizens of which countries can use this service?

At the moment, the application is only available for US citizens. If you do not live in the US, but want to register an LLC in the US, you can also use the application. However, you will need a local agent to prepare all the needed documents.

If the LLC name I choose is already taken, can I choose another one? Will there be an additional fee?

We provide an option for choosing two alternative names. No additional charge is involved. If all of the chosen names are taken, our Team will contact you additionally to select a new name.

Are there any specific requirements for the LLC application?

You should be a resident of the state you apply for.

Can I upgrade? How?

Upgrade is not possible since the plans are final.

Can my subscription be refused?

Yes, a subscription can be refused on legal grounds. If this happens, our Namecheap Legal Team will contact you regarding the situation.
