VPS Hosting

A virtual private server, also known as VPS hosting offers the perfect balance between regular shared hosting and dedicated server hosting. A VPS is a single hardware node split into multiple virtual machines (known as VPS or VDS). Virtualization technology, in our case Xen or OpenVZ, fully separates each of these VPS / VDS / VMs from each other. This means each VPS is provisioned with a guaranteed set of resources (CPU, RAM and Hard Drive space) and that each VPS comes with full root access.

Traditionally guaranteed resources and root access only were available with full dedicated servers but our virtualization technology allows us to offer very competitively priced Virtual Private Servers that cost less than a dedicated server.

Namecheap's VPS infrastructure is second to none. Each hardware node is a Supermicro or Dell enterprise class server featuring 16 Intel XEON CPU/Processors, 32GB DDR3 ECC RAM and 4 or 8 RAID10 hard drives.

We offer a choice of virtualization platforms. Xen is the best platform for those demanding power and performance from their VPS. OpenVZ offers a cheaper VPS that is still fully functional. cPanel control panel is available on all of our VPS plans starting from VPS1 package and is recommended for those looking for an easy-to-use control panel. We also offer a range of different operating systems on each of our VPS plans.
