WordPress for Everyone Has Arrived. EasyWP is Out Of Beta!

When we introduced EasyWP to the world back on May 31st, 2017, it marked a significant step forward in two ways. Firstly, it was the introduction and launch of our first full cloud product (built solely in-house by Namecheap). Secondly, it was our approach to a radically better way to do WordPress.

In October, we introduced our vision of what a better WordPress experience was. Back then, we spoke of our vision being a better and easier to use Managed WordPress hosting, delivered at a really affordable price point. A price point made possible by building our own cloud on which to deliver WordPress to our customers.

In the blog post back in 2017, we explained the challenges in building our own fully-fledged cloud platform and for that reason, the product would remain in beta.

Time Flies. And Visions Evolve.

Today is a major milestone for EasyWP; I am pleased to announce we are officially out of beta.

In the seventeen months since my blog post introducing EasyWP, much has changed. EasyWP is much improved and our cloud platform is mature, rock solid and performant. Our vision too has evolved. At Namecheap, we’re working hard to Democratize and Elevate WordPress. For everyone.

Our initial vision for EasyWP was a better way to do WordPress. But today, we envision so much more than that. Our vision is a Democratized, Elevated WordPress Experience.

Democratizing and Elevating WordPress. For Everyone.

What do we mean by Democratizing WordPress?

To Make a Managed WordPress experience accessible and available to all. Most of the WordPress community readily accepts that Managed WordPress is a better way to host WordPress. But a lot of Managed WordPress hosting is expensive; with many providers the entry level Managed WordPress hosting plan is 10x as expensive as traditional shared hosting plans. To us, that’s wrong. We believe that everyone should be able to afford to publish and create content online, using WordPress and without the headaches or hosting challenges of old. That’s why the entry level EasyWP is just $1 per month more expensive than Namecheap’s Shared Hosting plans. (If you are unfamiliar with what Managed WordPress Hosting is, you can read more here).

It is our firm desire to make a true Managed WordPress service available and affordable to all. Our pricing will always put value first. “Why is EasyWP so cheap?” and “Is there something wrong with it?”. Far from it. We’re on a mission to bring Managed WordPress to the masses and put value before profit. And we’re able to do this because we’ve built our own, state-of-the-art Cloud from the ground up. This is Democratizing WordPress.

With democracy comes freedom. At Namecheap, consumer choice always remains top of mind. Not only do we staunchly support the online rights of every netizen but we also stay committed to the strictest data security and privacy policies around. These beliefs are inherently woven into EasyWP, meaning we take a “no walled garden” approach to our offering. In other words, if a customer decides to up and cancel their subscription, we won’t become a hindrance. Rather, we respect their decision and their data, refusing to share with any other third party.

What do we mean by Elevating WordPress?

Elevating WordPress. We elevate WordPress across two fronts. The first front recognises that WordPress is good because of how open and modular it is. The ecosystem around WordPress plays a big part in making it powerful and potent. The incredible variety of themes, plugins, educational material and more deliver versatility that makes WordPress the cornerstone of any type of website you can imagine.

But with such a diverse ecosystem, how do you find what works with your idea? We look to elevate WordPress by curating what we think makes it so special. We’re working hard on partnerships and material of our own to bring in advantages for Namecheap and EasyWP customers. We’re also working hard to equip you with all of the tools you need to elevate your idea online with WordPress.

This has already started. We have partnerships with WP101 and Yoast in the wings to bring in educational material and the best plugins for WordPress. This will grow and we’re broadening our approach to include other themes and plugins. These will all be tried, tested and packaged into EasyWP for fast deployment. And no uncertainty on if the theme or plugin will break the rest of your site.

The second front is the EasyWP dashboard. This gives EasyWP users and creators a holistic overview of all of their WordPress sites. A single pane of glass to view the status, health and key statistics will give site owners the easiest, quickest way to understand what is going on across all of their sites. Gone are the days of having to log in to individual control panels, servers or more. Time is money, and a better way to manage the fleet is to see it all at once.

Our dashboard is the hub for everything WordPress related. It continues to grow and evolve with new functionality frequently released. Just last week we launched phpMyAdmin access to manage your databases through the dashboard and other exciting plans include health checks, security and much more.

2019 is going to be an exciting year for EasyWP. We’d love to see you onboard.
