The inaugural .ART Award is here, and your work is the entry

Imagine your name in WhiteWall Magazine. Your work on the walls at Art Basel Miami. A residency in the south of France or Spain. And $15,000 in your pocket. All because you put your work online and entered it for the world to see.

That’s not a fantasy. That’s the .ART Award 2026.

The first-ever global art prize built around the .art domain is officially open, and it’s looking for artists, photographers, designers, illustrators, and creatives of every kind.

Already have a .art domain? Then you can submit straight away. Don’t have one yet? Register one for next to nothing, then enter the competition after.

If you want to know more about the awards, just read on. Or jump straight to the how-to guide for entry details.

What the .ART Award actually is

The .ART Award is a judged international art prize, run by the .art registry, open to anyone with a .art domain. Your domain is your entry. What’s behind it, your portfolio, your process, your practice, is what the judges evaluate.

This is the inaugural edition. The very first. Which means whoever wins gets to be the artist who sets the standard for every edition that follows. That’s a genuinely exciting thing to be.

Applications opened May 11, 2026. The deadline is November 1, 2026. And whether you already have a .art domain or you’re starting from scratch today, it’s time to enter.

What you could win

The total prize value exceeds $50,000. Here’s what’s on the table:

  • A $15,000 cash grand prize
  • A $10,000 premium .art domain
  • A one-month artist residency at Château du Fresne, France
  • A one-month artist residency at Anfitrion.art, Marbella, Spain
  • Editorial coverage in Whitewall Magazine
  • A feature at Art Basel Miami, where winners are revealed on December 3, 2026

Not bad for showing your work on a .art domain.

How the judging works

Submissions close November 1. From there, things move quickly.

Semi-finalists are announced November 6. Finalists November 20. And on December 3, the winners are revealed at Art Basel Miami, one of the most significant moments in the international art calendar.

Judging is carried out by a panel of iconic figures from across the art world. The full panel is listed on the award.art submission page, and it’s worth a look before you enter.

How to enter

There are two ways to enter:

If you already have a .art domain

Good news: the hard part is done. If your .art domain has live content behind it, a portfolio, a body of work, a creative process, anything that genuinely shows what you do, you’re ready to submit.

Before you enter, make sure your .art URL includes a short bio (around 100 words), examples of your work, and some context around your creative process. The judges will visit your URL directly, so what’s there matters. If you already have a portfolio or social profile that covers this, a redirect is all you need.

The form asks for four things: your name, the title of your work, your .art URL, and your email. It takes minutes, and then it’s in the hands of the judges.”

If you don’t have a .art domain yet

Here’s the thing: getting from no domain to fully entered is a lot simpler than it sounds. Here’s how to do it well before the November 1 deadline.

Step 1: Register your .art domain. The whole registration takes a couple of minutes.

Step 2: Point it to your work. You don’t need to build a website from scratch. You can redirect your new .art domain to an existing portfolio, social profile, or any page where your work already lives. Here’s exactly how to set that up in a few clicks.

Step 3: Submit. Head to award.art, fill in four fields, and you’re in the running.

The deadline is November 1, 2026. That’s more than enough time to get everything in place.

Who can enter

Artists, photographers, designers, illustrators, galleries, creative studios: if your work is online and you have a .art domain pointing to it, you qualify. The award is global, with no geographic restrictions.

Your work is already the entry

The .ART Award isn’t asking you to make something new. It’s asking you to show what you’re already making. Your domain, your practice, your creative world online: that’s what the judges want to see.

The kind of work that earns a feature at Art Basel Miami, a residency abroad, and a spread in Whitewall Magazine is already out there. It might well be yours.

The first-ever winner of the .ART Award will be announced on December 3, 2026.

It could be you.

Register a .art domain and enter the Award.
