Leading international domain name registrar Namecheap is celebrating Earth Day on April 22nd with a special transfer promotion that will offer significant savings on gtld domain transfers. "We're pleased to partner with the International Tree Foundation for Earth Day," Richard Kirkendall, Namecheap's CEO said. "Not only can our customers transfer domains to Namecheap at a below-cost price, by doing so they can also cause one tree to be planted for each domain transferred.'
“On this very special Earth Day, I would like to acknowledge the support that Namecheap have given us in recent years," Lorraine Dunk, director of the ITF said in a statement. "By transferring your domain name to Namecheap, you will be contributing towards our increasingly critical work on global deforestation."
Namecheap has had a long lasting partnership with the International Tree Foundation, stemming from an earlier cooperative effort that included Namecheap's involvement in tree planting across Asia, the African Drylands, and Sub-Saharan Africa in efforts to reduce the carbon footprint. Namecheap is committed to sustainability and in supporting environmental issues.
Namecheap also continues to be socially conscious while it supports initiatives such as awareness of ecological, political, and economic issues such as SOPA and PIPA. In early 2012, Namecheap donated over $64,000 to the Electronic Frontier Foundation to help support its efforts to protect fundamental technological rights.
"Caring about our Earth and environment is incredibly important to Namecheap and our customers, and we're glad to help in any small way that we can," Kirkendall said.
The SAVEtheEARTH coupon code is limited to 10 uses per account and also offers a significant savings, reducing transfer fees to $5.99 plus $0.18 ICANN fees.
