How does Free DNS work?

After you enroll a domain to use our Free DNS service, you need to change the nameserver settings to

  • freedns1.registrar-servers.com
  • freedns2.registrar-servers.com
  • freedns3.registrar-servers.com
  • freedns4.registrar-servers.com
  • freedns5.registrar-servers.com
at your current registrar within 10 days. We will then try to verify if you have pointed correctly to our name servers  by continuously monitoring your domain's DNS settings. The Free DNS service will be activated once we make sure everything is set properly.

However, if there is a host similar to your domain/name server (in active/processing state) within our database, you will be asked to confirm your identity by explicitly authorizing the request before pointing the host to our DNS (or) if you are planning to use Namecheap's DNS as a backup, you will be asked to authorize the request.
