What should I do to transfer a domain from Namecheap?

To transfer a domain out of Namecheap.com you should submit a transfer request for the domain at the gaining registrar, just follow their instructions for your transfer request.

Domain transfers can take anywhere from 3 to 8 days to complete. Just assure that the following apply to the domain:

• The domain must be more than 60 days old
• The domain has been "Unlocked" for transfer under "Registrar Lock"
• WhoisGuard is disabled
  
• The domain is showing your current information for the admin contact in the Whois

You may remove the Registrar Lock by logging into your account, clicking on Manage Domains and clicking on the domain in question. From the following page please select the Registrar Lock from the menu on the left and you will then be able to release the lock.

In order to retrieve your EPP code, you will need to log into your account and click on Get EPP Code on the right hand side menu. There you will also be prompted to enter the reason for transferring the domain name out. Please provide us with it since this will help us to improve our service in future.
