Open-Xchange DNS records for domains hosted with Namecheap

If your domain is hosted with us using our hosting DNS and you wish to have Open-Xchange email service along with web-site hosting you can set appropriate MX and CNAME records in your cPanel the following way:

  • Login to your cPanel
  • Go to MX Entry




  • Select the domain name you have Open-Xchange service for from Domain drop-down list
  • Scroll down to Add New Record area and REMOVE EXISTING MX RECORDS. For example, as shown on the screenshot below:

  •  After that add 2 new MX records with 10 priority:

    oxmail1.registrar-servers.com
    oxmail2.registrar-servers.com

  • Return to cPanel home page
  • Go to "Email Authentication" menu and make sure cPanel "SPF" and "Domain Keys" features are disabled.
  • Return to cPanel home page 
  • Go to "Advanced DNS zone Editor" menu
  • Change value of CNAME records set for mail.domain.com to oxwebmail.registrar-servers.com

  • Set "v=spf1 include:ox.registrar-servers.com ~all" TXT record in "Advanced DNS Zone Editor"
